You deserve to be seen, known, trusted and loved for who you truly are.
Private Coaching
A bespoke seven-month coaching relationship for individuals and couples ready for deeper connection, more honest relationships, and a more fully lived life.
Seven months to go deeper. The option to continue as long as the work is serving you.
You've already tried the other things
You've read the books. Maybe sat with a therapist or two. Maybe done a men's circle or women’s group, a retreat, a plant medicine journey, a podcast that felt like it was speaking directly to you for forty-five minutes and then wasn't there Monday morning.
None of that was wasted.
But you're here because it didn't fully take, and some part of you already knows that.
Here's what you might also be sensing, even if you haven't said it out loud: that what you're looking for isn't another technique.
It's evidence that what you want is actually possible.
What becomes possible
Know yourself more deeply. Embrace more of who you are, including the parts you've learned to hide, manage, or reject.
Break old patterns. Understand the stories, defenses, and protective strategies that keep repeating, and develop new choices.
Speak your truth. Learn to say what you actually feel, want, need, and believe, without abandoning yourself or attacking someone else.
Experience more vitality and purpose. Reconnect with what makes you feel alive, and create a life that reflects what actually matters to you.
See others more clearly. Learn to meet people beyond their masks, patterns, defenses, and projections.
Build deep trust. In yourself. In your relationships. And in your capacity to navigate whatever comes next.
I’ve lived some of this
You didn't come here for a technique you could've read in a book. You came here because you're looking for evidence that what you want is actually possible — and that's not something I can hand you in a sentence. It's something you'll feel in the room with me.
Twenty-one years into my first marriage, it ended, and I had to rebuild nearly everything at once — my relationship, my career, where I lived, even how I understood my calling as a rabbi. I know what it costs to start over, because I've done it. I also know what's possible on the other side of it: ten years now into a relationship with my wife, Leslie, where one of our favorite activities, we often say, is simply our relationship itself. We even teach and coach together sometimes, which tells you something about how far the rebuilding actually went.
I'm not telling you this because I have a theory about rebuilding a life. I know what it feels like to have to do it.
You're not here to hear how I did it. You're here to find out what's possible for you.
“If I am I, because you are you, and you are you, because I am I, then I am not I, and you are not you. But if I am I because I am I, and you are you because you are you, then I am I, and you are you, and here we can meet.”
— Menachem Mendel of Kotzk
Your body is part of this work
You won't just talk here. Drawing from close to 30 years of working with individuals and couples, and stumbling through plenty of my own ups and downs, my approach blends modern coaching and relationship science with an alchemy of mysticism, tantra, Mussar, embodiment, and spiritual practice.
Expect sessions that include your body, not just your mind — embodied practice, breathwork, nervous system attunement, conscious conversation.
So yes, we'll talk. But you'll also notice what's happening in your body. We may move. We may meditate. We may work with breath. We may activate or settle your nervous system. We may work through a trigger in real time. We may practice a conversation you've been avoiding. And sometimes we'll sit quietly with something that doesn't yet have words.
Insight matters. But insight alone rarely changes a life.
What happens after the breakthrough
I'm interested in what happens after the breakthrough.
A new relationship. A difficult conversation. A marriage. A divorce. A career change. A loss. A success. A new child. An empty nest. A move. A moment when everything you thought you knew about yourself starts to change.
These are the moments when having someone who already knows you can matter.
I don't want to be someone you see only when something is broken.
I want to be someone you can return to as your life changes.
Client Stories
"Speaking as both a therapist and a woman, I trust Ted completely with our hearts and our inner landscapes. He's an incredibly deep listener who won't tolerate any BS — he'll call you out on your blind spots without hesitation. If you have a chance to work with Ted, it is truly a gift."
- Marina
"Meeting with Ted regularly was never a checklist item — it became something I was genuinely excited about, and every single session resulted in a real breakthrough. Ted taught me the role of a grounded, masculine presence as a means of nurturing the feminine, and it completely changed the dynamic in my marriage. If you're considering this work, there's nobody better than Ted — I'll be recommending him for the rest of my life."
— Nathan Riley
“There aren't many people who I let guide me in life. There are not many people who I feel particularly comfortable leaning into trust with… Ted brings so much depth and wisdom and curiosity, and just so many different modalities to be able to support someone like me. In the work that we did together, I have transformationally shifted my relationship with myself. It impacts the whole way I see the world.”
—Jeff Levere
“I really enjoyed working with Ted. The thing I appreciated most about Ted was that he held a strong line for me and didn't let me off the hook, even when I wanted to let myself off the hook. He has an incredibly welcoming and patient energy and provided space for me to think for myself and connect to myself in deep ways. He helped coach me through an extremely difficult season of my life and I'll be forever grateful.”
- David Gerber
“Ted has the powerful ability to guide one into confronting their shadows, encouraging reflection, awareness, and life-changing growth.”
—Paul,
"We broke years of argument loops and finally learned to trust each other again. Ted zeroed in on our primary issues from the very first session — he never got bogged down in who was right or wrong, but helped us see the emotional need underneath the behavior. I learned to soften and be vulnerable, to let Claire feel me, not just see me. Now we have each other's backs again — we can trust each other with the hard stuff. If you feel like you're just roommates drifting apart, Ted is the bridge back to intimacy."
— Jeff and Claire
“Working with Ted was great. He skillfully weaved many different things into our sessions, helping us grow closer as a couple and lay the foundation of our marriage rooted in connection and respect for one another. His availability and generosity with time helped us tend to things in the moment as they arose rather than letting things build. The things we learned with Ted will stay with us for a long time.”
- J & J
"You won't find a coach with a deeper heart than Ted. He feels like family. He brings incredible insight and wisdom to his work that allowed me to see deeper truths about myself, while providing the compassion needed to make real, difficult change. My life is fundamentally different after our work together.”
— Bradley Gordon
Meet Ted
I'm Ted. I'm an ordained rabbi, spiritual teacher, coach, mentor, husband, and father.
For close to 30 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I've studied and trained in men's work, embodiment, relationship work, coaching, Mussar, and spiritual direction.
Most of what I know about accompanying people through life came from doing it. And from living it. I've made mistakes. I've struggled. I've grown. I've learned.
And I've discovered that some of the most important work we do isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about becoming more fully who we already are.
What a seven-month coaching relationship looks like
We begin with where you are. We'll clarify what brought you here, what you want to change, and what you hope becomes possible.
We build a shared map. We'll begin identifying patterns, strengths, desires, defenses, relationships, and places where you're getting stuck.
We practice. This is where the work moves from insight into your actual life.
We stay with it. Seven months gives us enough time to see what happens when the ideas meet real life. And real life always brings something unexpected.
We decide what's next. At the end of seven months, we look together at what has changed and what you want now. You may be ready to move on. You may want to continue. Or you may want to shift to occasional spot-check sessions. The relationship can evolve as your life evolves.
Who is this for?
COUPLES — For couples who want more than conflict resolution. Maybe you're stuck in a pattern you can't seem to break. Maybe intimacy has faded. Maybe you're struggling to communicate. Maybe you're recovering from something that damaged trust. Or maybe your relationship is good, and you want it to become extraordinary.
MEN — For men who want a private space to explore relationships, purpose, sexuality, leadership, identity, and the patterns that shape how they live. If you're interested in The Wisdom Circle but need something more personal, this may be the right path.
WOMEN — For women who want a space to explore intimacy, relationships, identity, embodiment, desire, boundaries, purpose, and the transitions of life. A place to be fully yourself, without having to perform.
Logistics: what does coaching look like?
A seven-month relationship, shaped around you.
We begin with a seven-month commitment. The frequency and rhythm of our work depend on whether we're working individually or as a couple, and on what you need.
For individuals: We typically meet two or three times a month, primarily over Zoom. When possible, I also meet with clients in person, whether for a regular session or a more intensive mini-retreat.
For couples: We typically meet twice a month as a couple, with each partner also meeting with me individually once a month. This gives us space to work on the relationship together while also creating room for each person's individual growth.
Most of my clients live outside the Bay Area, so Zoom makes the work accessible wherever you are. When we're able to meet in person, I value that opportunity.
What happens after seven months?
Seven months isn't an expiration date.
At the end of our initial commitment, we'll look together at what's changed, what's still unfolding, and what would serve you next. Some clients continue working with me on an ongoing basis. Others shift to occasional spot-check sessions when something important arises. And some return months or years later when life brings them into a new chapter.
I like this kind of continuity. It's one of the things I loved about being a synagogue rabbi — being there not only when someone had a problem, but as their life unfolded.
Investment
Private coaching begins at $18,000 for the initial seven-month commitment.
Because this work is bespoke, the exact investment depends on the scope and structure of our work together. We'll talk about that openly before you decide whether we're a fit.
Your Questions, Answered
-
Yes. Individuals typically meet with me two or three times a month; couples meet with me twice a month together, plus once a month individually.
-
Yes. Before moving into coaching, I served as rabbi for an LGBTQ synagogue, and that community shaped how I think about identity, relationships, and belonging. Wherever you are in your life or relationships, you don't need to explain or justify who you are to work with me.
-
Yes. I don't assume monogamy is the goal, and I don't push clients toward any particular relationship structure. My work is about helping you build honesty, trust, and intimacy in whatever form your relationships take — you bring the structure, and we do the work inside it.
-
No. My training as a rabbi and student of Mussar shapes how I hold this work, but you don't need any religious background or spiritual framework to benefit from it.
-
Coaching isn't psychotherapy, and I don't position it as a replacement for therapy. My work focuses on personal growth, relationships, intimacy, embodiment, meaning, and how you want to live.
-
No. The work is bespoke and built around you.
-
Because meaningful change needs time. Seven months gives us enough runway to build trust, practice new ways of relating, and see what happens when the work meets real life.
-
We decide together. Some clients continue. Others shift to periodic spot-check sessions. Some return later when a new life chapter calls for support.
-
Expect more than talking. Sessions include embodied practice, breathwork, and nervous system work alongside conscious conversation, because lasting change moves through the body, not just the mind.
You don't have to know exactly what you need.
You just need to know that you're ready for something to change.
The first step is a short application. I'll read it personally, and if it feels like there may be a fit, we'll talk.
